With the proliferation of blogging among normal computer users, we decided it was time to develop a more basic blog - one that's easy to install, easy to use, and doesn't require a degree in Computer Science to configure. Enter BlogLite, which runs entirely on only two scripts and two HTML templates. You can control the look of your blog by modifying the template files with the HTML editor of your choice.
Plus, all of your blog entries are stored in a MySQL database, and your archives are generated dynamically. This means you don't waste disk space with static archive files, and you never have to manually "rebuild" or "regenerate" your archives. |

| The art of blogging, or creating a web-based journal, has been spreading like wildfire among internet users over the past year or so. At PHP Labs, some of our staff have started their own blogs, and we've had the opportunity to evaluate several of the popular weblog apps out there. What we found time and again was that many of these programs have evolved far beyond their original blogging functionality, in some cases adding hundreds of configuration options. |
