Have you ever wanted to run your own rating site, where your visitors can upload their own pics for voting?

Now you can, and RateMyStuff makes it easy!

This 10-script package powers your entire rating site, from voting to user uploads. We've even included a "Top 10" script that shows the top 10 best or top 10 worst rated images, as well as a "New Uploads" script to display the most recently uploaded pictures. RateMyStuff truly is an entire site in a single ZIP file.

Setup is simple, too! All you do is edit the HTML templates to suit your taste, upload the scripts, chmod a single directory, and run the included installer script. That's all there is to it!

Plus, we've made the HTML template process as painless as possible by supporting special tokens (like %random%) that you can drop into the templates to have certain content inserted automatically. With these tokens you can easily have the following items placed anywhere in your templates: a random image with voting link, the user login form, stats about the last picture the visitor voted on, a table showing the top 5 rated pics, even an HTML header and footer.

RateMyStuff was updated to include a new feature called "HookUp." HookUp is an anonymous contact system which allows users to get in touch with each other, without revealing their email address or personal information. Each user can provide a short bio about themselves, and toggle whether or not they're interested in accepting HookUps from other users. If a user is accepting HookUps, this will be stated on the voting page for their image.

When one user sends a HookUp message to another user, the recipient will get an email with a link to the sender's picture and a link to reply to the message if they desire. These emails are sent through RateMyStuff's HookUp script, and do not expose the sender's email address to the recipient or vice versa. This lets users send messages back and forth anonymously until they're comfortable trading contact info.

Only registered users (i.e. people who have uploaded their own picture to the site) may send HookUp messages to other users. If a visitor who hasn't registered attempts to send a HookUp message, he'll be given the opportunity to quickly sign up in a new browser window, then return to send his HookUp.

When a user logs in, the user info page displays his or her current picture rating, and also allows them to update their email address, add or edit a brief bio, or toggle their HookUp availability settings.
